Detailed Itinerary.
Day 01 : Arrive in New Delhi (By Flight)
Upon your arrival at the Delhi airport, a representative of the Nature Safari India team will be waiting for you outside the arrival lounge. He will take you to the hotel. After you check in, you take time to relax at the hotel.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: New Delhi - Leh (flight)
After breakfast, go to the airport to catch a flight to the Leh. It is not allowed to take pictures at Leh airport because it is a military airport. When you get there, you will be taken to the hotel, which is only half an hour from the airport. There is a jump of more than 3000 meters in altitude in a short amount of time when you fly from Delhi to Leh. This is why acclimatization is so vital for everyone flying in this area. The first day in Ladakh is spent getting used to the low oxygen levels.
To help you get used to things better, think about these tips:
• Don’t climb stairs or do hard things.
• Make sure you drink enough water to stay hydrated; hot water is best.
• Don’t take a shower on the first day.
• Don’t nap during the day to avoid having trouble sleeping at night.
- Rest is important, but it’s okay to stroll slowly.
• If you feel sick or throw up, tell the front office right away.
• Tell someone if you feel bad or have any strange symptoms.
Following these measures can make it easier for you to get used to your new surroundings.
Dinner and a night at the lodge.
Day 03: Leh
This day in Leh will be full of cultural experiences and time spent in nature, which will help you get used to the area even more. Since Leh is so high up, spending another day here will help you get ready for the even higher places you’ll see next.
You start your day by going to the Thiksey Monastery, which is the biggest monastery in Leh. This amazing building, which looks like the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, is a peaceful and spiritually enriching place to visit. You’ll see a lot of Tibetan Buddhist culture, art, and history as you walk through its halls and gardens.
After visiting the monastery, you’ll do your first outdoor activity in Leh: going to the banks of the Indus River. This peaceful place is a birdwatcher’s paradise, and you might even see the rare Ibisbill and other native birds. The time spent by the river not only connects you with the unique avian life of the region but also offers moments of peaceful reflection amidst the natural beauty of Leh.
You’ll go back to your hotel after a full day of exploring and learning. You can relax and recharge for the rest of the day, or you can take a leisurely walk through the adjacent market. A trip to the market gives you a taste of life in Ladakh. You may buy handmade souveni
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and overnight at the lodge.
Day 04: Leh – Ulley
After a leisurely breakfast, get ready for a thrilling trip to Ulley, a little settlement with only six dwellings that is known for being one of the greatest spots to see snow leopards and other wildlife that lives at high altitudes. It takes about two and a half hours to get from your hotel to Ulley. When you leave the outskirts of Leh, you’ll see the stunning splendor of the Trans-Himalaya.
You’ll soon reach a beautiful place called Sangam, where the Indus and Zanskar rivers meet. This is right after you get on National Highway 1. This is a great chance to take pictures at the time when these two big rivers meet. As you make your way to Ulley, you’ll pass through a number of Ladakhi settlements and military bases, getting a taste of the area’s unique culture and scenery. If our team hears about a snow leopard sighting along the way, they will go to the spot where your lunch will also be served. If not, you will keep on to the resort. The road to Ulley winds through the high Himalayas, where it leads you to your lodge, where you’ll be greeted with tea and coffee. After you’ve settled in and eaten lunch, the adventure continues with a trip to adjacent areas where the rare snow leopard is often seen. Dedicated trackers go out every morning to look for this amazing animal. They share any sightings or signs to make sure everyone has the highest possibility of seeing a snow leopard in the wild.
After a day of exploring and the excitement of looking for the snow leopard, head back to the lodge for the night. You can relax and think about the day’s activities over dinner here before going to bed in your accommodation to get some much-needed sleep. You’ll be ready for whatever the next day brings on this amazing journey across the Himalayas.
Day 05: Ulley
Get up early, put on your cold clothing, and go outside. The lodge’s trackers will be looking over the mountainside. If you join them, you might see an ibex, a red fox, or, if you’re lucky, the first snow leopard just outside the lodge. Some of our guests have seen snow leopards here before. If not, get ready to go out after breakfast and look for them. If the team hears about a snow leopard or any interesting sighting, they will go right to the spot. It can be near the road, or you might have to walk or even hike to get there. Get ready to do some hiking. You can see them with a spotting scope or, if they’re close enough, with your own eyes or binoculars when you get there. If you bring a mobile holder for your spotting scope, you can take clear images of the snow leopard with your phone.
In the evening, go back to your lodge and talk to other people about what you saw that day before going to bed.
Day 06 - 07: Ulley
The same joy comes with another day. Nothing is arranged ahead of time on this tour; everything happens depending on what you see of the snow leopard. Get ready to join the team in the morning as the trackers look for any activity on the huge cliffs and mountains around them. It’s hard to see an animal in these mountains because they blend in so well with their surroundings. You can only hope to see them if you look closely with eyes that are used to the area.
After breakfast, you’ll go on a drive to look for snow leopards, the Tibetan wolf, and other animals. While looking for the snow leopard, you might see several unusual birds that live in the Trans-Himalayan region. The Golden Eagle is a big bird of prey that hunts animals as big as foxes and young Himalayan ungulates. The Lammergeier or Bearded Vulture is the biggest vulture species, with a wingspan of 2.31 to 2.83 meters. Bearded vultures eat dead animals, especially bones. They lift the bones up high and then drop them to break them apart so they may eat the bone marrow. You might also see the Himalayan Snowcock, Chukar Pheasant, Red-billed Chough, Robin Accentor, Eurasian Magpie, Brown Accentor, and other birds. After a long day of looking for the snow leopard, go back to the resort and go straight to bed after dinner to get ready for the next day.
All Meals and overnight at the lodge.
Day 08 - 09: Ulley
Spotters also go to the settlements of Saspoche and Hemis Shukpachen, which are close by, to look for the snow leopard. These two settlements are great places to see both snow leopards and wolves. A small pack of 5 to 8 wolves lives in this area between these two communities. While trekking in search of the snow leopard, other animals you may encounter roaming the Trans-Himalayan cliffs include the Ladakh Urial and Asiatic Ibex.
All Meals and overnight at the lodge.
Day 10: Ulley - Leh
Get ready for your trip to Leh in the morning, depending on the weather.
This is your last chance to see the rare snow leopard again on this tour, so don’t miss it! Get up early, get ready, and join the search team to look around the neighborhood. If you see something intriguing, you can wait to leave for Leh, but you have to leave the lodge before it gets dark. We’ll also look at spots where we might see animals on the way back. When you get to Leh, take a break and, if you have time, walk around the market. You might want to purchase here to get some souvenirs to take home. Food and a place to sleep at the hotel in Leh.

Facilities at the Lodge in Ulley.
The lodge in Ulley doesn’t have as many amenities as your hotel in Leh because it’s in a rural area and isn’t easy to get to modern conveniences.
- There is no flowing water since it is always freezing. There are always buckets of hot and cold water, though. The toilets are Western-style and have a “bucket flush” system.
- All of the rooms have two beds and views, and they all get natural light. There are light fixtures and plug points in each room, as well as tables for luggage. Rooms are heated in the middle of the night, and hot water bottles are also available to warm up your mattresses.
- The lounge serves tea and coffee in the morning. The lounge is decorated in a way that is typical of the area, with colors and styles that make it feel warm and inviting.
- It has decent heating and a tea and coffee station with cookies.
- The dining room is comfortable.
- There is no mobile network or wi-fi in the lodge, but you can access wi-fi after going a few meters from the lodge, but the connection is weak.

Christine FFebruary 10, 2025 Wonderful India The golden triangle and safari tour with Nature Safari India was an amazing experience. Don’t think twice, just book. From the time they picked us up at the New Delhi airport to the time that they dropped us off 17 days later, we were in safe hands and transported to all locations in utmost comfort. The vehicles used were spacious and all drivers magnificent. Tiger Safari’s-Our 3 nights each at Pench, Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks were superb with 5 star accommodations. The peaceful feeling at each location will never be forgotten. The food throughout our safari lodges was simply delicious, with each lodge having a flair of their own. The hospitality at each was exceptional. Special callout to the Treehouse Hideaway experience, the care of the staff was second to none, they worked very hard to ensure that we had a great time.Full day sightseeing in central Delhi and accommodations were fantastic. The Taj Mahal and Agra Fort in Agra, so unforgettable. Our trip to Jaipur and our elephant ride up to Amber Fort was incredible. All accommodations were fantastic throughout our stay in India but our favourite was Lalee in Jaipur. We could have stayed there a week, one of the best boutique hotels we have ever stayed in, so inviting. The attention to detail that Nature Safari India gave could not have been better. They went “above and beyond” our expectations. The best customer service! A shoutout to Mr Negi our driver from Delhi-Agra-Jaipur-Delhi, he was amazing, as were all of our other drivers and guides, Subhash and Sailesh at Pench, Sanjay and Chhote at Kanha, Sanjay & Ajay at Bandhavgarh. Gulab Jaiswal our driver from Bandhavgarh to Jabalpur for flight to New Delhi was fantastic and managed to fix a flat tire in less than 10 minutes, kudos to him. Thanks to all other drivers as well.Protim was amazing and kept in touch with us the whole trip via WhatsApp. Thank you Nature Safari for our wonderful experience in India. If we are fortunate enough to visit again, you are definitely the company of our choice.Voyager01277960850February 7, 2025 Tiger Safari and Golden Triangle What a fabulous trip to central India to see tigers in 3 national parks and then on to view the wonders of the Indian Golden Triangle. From first contact with Nature Safari India we knew we were in good hands. Plenty of other animals are beautiful birds to see as well. The drivers and guides in the parks and at the monuments in the Golden Triangle were very helpful and very knowledgeable. All in all a fabulous trip. All we had to do was get ourselves to India, Nature Safari did the rest.Stan HFebruary 7, 2025 Our first magnificent Tiger Safari! Hard to express how great this experience was! We read about Tiger Safari through a Google search and contacted them to see if they could arrange a tiger safari between Jan 23-Feb 3, 2025. We were a little nervous having never gone to India before and not knowing what to expect. We were extremely pleased with what they provided. They arranged private safaris in Pench, Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks, our transportation from Delhi too and between each Park. Excellent accommodation and meals, phenomenal safaris, great and comfortable transportation between Parks and wonderful hosts and guides in each locations. Just an outstanding trip! Tiger sitings in all three Parks, leopards, deer, antelope, and the birds! Highly recommend them! Can't thank Ishana (who arranged the trip) and Pratim, our host who went out of his way to greet us and make us feel comfortable, enough. They made our first trip to India very memorable and we look forward to having them arrange a future trip for us. I am a female solo traveller and from the moment I was met at Delhi Airport to when I was taken back for my return flights home I was so well looked after. Excellent accommodation, great food, terrific guides and wonderful tigers and leopards in the national parks all combined to make an unforgettable experience. Thank you Ishana for your help in organising this for me - you were always there to answer my emails so promptly and professionally.ALAN MFebruary 1, 2025 5-star performance Having done the required research, rather than book a tiger watching package through a UK-based tour company, I opted to go with Nature Safari India, cutting out the middle man and the costs. I'm so glad I did; Nature Safari turned out to be the real deal - responsive, courteous, efficient, flexible and great value for money. My 10 night, three-centre tiger watch could not have gone better. The accommodation, transfers and, most importantly, the safaris, were first-class. The staff everywhere were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and the round-the-clock back-up from the Delhi office most reassuring. All-in-all, they did a great job for me.kevin tarrantJanuary 30, 2025 An awesome tiger experience Went primarily to look for tigers. We chose to go to Corbett NP because we could stay in the park and would spend less time travelling to where the tigers were found. For first time visitors to India it was great to be picked up and taken to our overnight hotel in New Delhi. The safari experience was awesome with several amazing tiger viewings. I was also interested in the birds and this was accommodated well by our guide. We saw elephants as well. The accommodation was basic as described ! Everything worked like clockwork. Guides and drivers were excellent, and would have no hesitation to recommend .JohnPoncaCityJanuary 22, 2025 Awesome India trip It was an awesome trip. They worked with me on what I wanted to see and were flexible as conditions dictated. Great hotels. Diwali celebrations were much fun and the guides were awesome. I was even able to add a visit to the bird sanctuary in addition to seeing the tigershannaha768January 20, 2025 The only company to choose! What could we say to capture the magic that we experienced in India with Tiger Safari India! We had the most phenomenal time on our two week tour and it far exceeded our expectations. Deepkul was beyond amazing. We used to refer to him on the tour as Deepkul the magician- he was always able to create magic! Consistently responsive from our first email and throughout our trip until the end. My husband unfortunately miscalculated the rupiah and needed some extra money- sorted in a flash. He also needed a certain medication and Deepkul ensured this was found and despite feeling dreadful for being such a bother Deepkul made us feel like this was not a trouble at all (when we know it was!).Our accommodation was spectacular. Every single one. Permits seamlessly obtained and exactly what we wanted. Our naturalists were top notch and most definitely helped to ensure our encounters with the tigers. We can not recommend Deepkul and the team at Tiger Safari (Nature Safari India) any more highly. We will most definitely be using them again in the future. Thank you again Deepkul!!! Keep up the incredible work.Marian SJanuary 16, 2025 Tigers in Kanha We were thrilled to see tigers almost everyday of our trip and lots of other wonderful wildlife. Nature Safari could not have been more helpful in planning our holiday and when we arrived.Neil HJanuary 9, 2025 WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY PARADISE Wildlife Photography in abundance with beautiful backdrops and amazing people - one of the best experiences. The staff made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had the best safari. The wildlife in Kanha was beyond my wildest dreams, sighting tigers and leopards with the assistance of our amazing guide Mahesh Gop who made sure we had the perfect angle with the perfect light. The accommodation at Meru Vann has been refurbished with the rooms and local cuisine to match the setting. You can expect a five star experience with staff greeting you when you first arrive then waving you off as you head to the jungle each day. The staff work tiresley before the sunrises and as you go to sleep they are still working hard preparing for the next day.The whole experience was amazing and professionally delivered to the highest of standardsTripadvisor rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 308 reviews
