The core of the tiger reserve comprises Tadoba National Park—renowned as the oldest protected forest in Maharashtra—and the adjoining Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. Together, they form a core area of 625 square kilometers. Surrounding this is a buffer zone spanning approximately 1,101 square kilometers, bringing the total protected area of the reserve to around 1,727 square kilometers.

As per the latest estimate the reserve is home to an estimated 122 tigers, making it one of the top destination for big cat sightings. Man-made waterholes enhance animal activity during hotter months, offering thrilling safari experiences. The park’s tourism is divided into three zones—Kolsa, Mohuli, and Tadoba—each offering unique opportunities for wildlife exploration.
